Event id #2584 : Helden, Dämonen und Hexen gesucht
Help needed with this one. Can't locate my own Happy Computer magazine collection at the moment, so I can't check myself. The compo was announced in issue 4/1988; there the official end of the compo (i.e. deadline for entries to be sent in) should be announced. Voting closed on Sep 1st; so results were probably announced in issue 10 (or maybe 9)/1988. Hopefully they released the binaries somewhere on a disk, which usually could be ordered separately; this could be stated in the article with the results as well.
Some pretty cool pics for the 64 entered the compo - check the (bad) pics of the screenshots from the magazine. Only 1 competitor could be identified here in the db by his real name; I would suspect that the others might have been sceners as well, but hard to tell without the real names. |

In issue 8/88 they showed 14 finalists and asked the readers to vote for their favorite. The three winners were shown (again) in issue 12/88, places 4. and 5. (didn't win anything) were mentioned in the text.
The finalists contained four C64 pics, the three winning pictures were from Amiga (#1, #3) and Atari (#2), #4 Amiga, #5 C64 |

I just realized they mentioned places 4, 5 and 6 in the text. Here's the ranking:
#1 'Land of Zomar' (Amiga) by Tobias Richer
#2 'Ork' (Atari ST) by Alexander Martens
#3 'Dragon' (Amiga) by Christian Ristan
#4 'Snowdragon' (Amiga) by Oliver Brühl (I thought that was #3)
#5 'Rendezvous' (Amiga) By Markus Wolf
#6 'Tinker' (C64) by Klaus Adamovsky
Other C64 pics were:
'Hydra' by Markus Bläser
'Labyrinth' by Achim Pfüller
'Amazon' by U.Hildmann
(The last two pictures don't seem to have a real name, so I made the names up matching the motif) |
