Hey sceners
I want to know if anyone knows of other demos or even a intro where a coder used static sprites to utalise the whole screen like in this demo.
I am so peeved that we didn't persue doing more of it at the time, hmmm mabye there was a reason can't recall why!! |

hi
Can anyone tell me how to run this demo on a real C64? When it's loaded the cursor isn't displayed and the C64 becomes irresponsive. Tried runstop+restore and sys2061, with Action Replay and with no cartridge but no go.

wow, now actually thats a piece of border trickery that impresses me. Some will say check deus ex machine, but I think there's no demo out there that does it so good, like this one. |

If thats the case I can understand why I was so excited at the time and its potential.
I am so annoyed that I didn't follow it up at the time I always wanted The Force to do a intro in the same format or more lol
We have a commodore scene party here in Australia end of the month might see what we can do! |

I recall seeing a small collection ( 3 pics? ) with REAL fullscreen graphics... I know one of the pics said '1001 crew', but I think it was released by The USA Team ( the dutch ones, not the german or finish USA team ;_) ). not quite as beautiful as this one, though. :_)

Those were probably ESCOS pictures which is made with expanded sprites covering the whole screen, not like this.
I recall a demo by War Deal Lamers where they use sprites to put a picture in the sideborders but they don't use the upper/lower border like in Freakout...
To put graphics in the upper/downer border + sideborder you'll have to use X-expanded sprites, like in Freakout, which spoils the impression I think...at least it doesn't look too good with the picture they used. |
