Yeah, there's a simple story to the similarities: Back then when the founding members of Equinoxe were still in Viper one member there had close contact with Fantasia, do not remember which exactly, maybe Traitor or Dasheele. Anyway, during those days a merge was agreed upon with that member and a demo named Fuel was supposed to be produced.

This was all a long time ago, so my memory might be distorted:

Shortly after that agreement the person we spoke with basically said, that Fantasia changed plans, most of their coding members will go to Smash Design to produce games and then basically sent us a bunch of unfinished demo parts plus loads of unreleased music, charsets and the like to somehow still release that, so that was how the EQX release of Fuel came to be.

I was not aware at that time of another Fuel release by the "original" Fantasia. I vaguely remember there was the preview, but I'm pretty sure the now dated 1992 release was not in wide circulation back then, as not even the Fantasia members who then actually merged with us had that. So it maybe was put together later on by the original coders of those parts, but anyway, that's all over 20 years ago so my memory faded.
