WANTED: PETSCII Art
Since there is no website currently dedicated to all the great PETSCII Art that was common on Commodore BBS's, I'm thinking about starting one up. However, I currently only have three disks of PETSCII Art files, so I'm looking to increase this collection before starting a website. If anyone has any disks of PETSCII Art, either self-made or buffer captures from BBS's, I'd be interested in getting copies. Please contact me here, or send me an e-mail at wiskow@verizon.net. Thanks!

This is PETSCII animation: Notemaker Demo II
And as far as i know, one of the greatest things done one c64. (even beyond petscii imho :)
Worth checking: Jucke & Dino & Poison. I must miss out a whole lot, and sorry for that.. I actually only began to appreciate PETSCII just not too long ago. (and i should be ashamed). |

The animations in the last BFP invitro should make anyone happy too. ;)
..and by the way, Sub#5 at Antidote is the place to be for PETSCII freaks. |

Thanks a lot to everyone who has sent me links. I've received a tremendous response to my request, from here as well as the other places I've posted this request. Now I just have to go through it all, then display the images in VICE, and convert them to JPEG's using Adobe Photoshop. This is going to take some time, but I think it will be worthwhile. :)

Noooo!
Don't use crappy JPEG for C64 screendumps (yes, that's what they're called)!
Better use PNG (directly from VICE) or GIF.

What Mace said. JPG uses compression that effects the graphics data which degrades the quality.
Great for pr0n, useless for screendumps (yep... ;)
Also, use the correct color palette. The gfx-ians can fill you in on that. |

the palettes can still be easyly changed afterwards. JPG-compression too with those resolutions but quite less easyly. |
