Platform tag & other ideas
It would be really nice if here on csdb we could unite with other small commodore scenes. Like on Pouet each release could have an additional platform tag, so we could allow entrys from vic20, plus4, c128 etc. I suggest to have only the 8 bit commodore line machines, as the amiga line is too far away from the c64 scene, and it has its own sites since ages anyway.
Would be fun to see here viznut's/britelite's fine vic 20 demos, various plus4 releases, etc.
Probably this needs major DB changes so maybe this is just something for CSDB V2.
other ideas:
- it would be nice if the topic lists would be breaken up into pages.
- search function amongst topic titles would be more useful than getting 1000+ results of various random topic posts or atleast different hits from the same topic could be united into just one single hit.

Well, we're talking scene releases so the 1970's PET stuff is out for a start unless it really is a scene release...? The VIC isn't a massive "market" but it could do with being shown off somewhere where people stand a chance of appreciating the work done. Personally, i just want C16/Plus/4 for selfish reasons, although they do have Plus/4 World already... =-) |

The strongest point pro VIC20/C16 on CSDb is that both machines scenes consist to a great extent of C64 sceners.
Other points would be historical relations (VIC20 is the ancestor of the C64 and the C16 is the brother), and technical similarities (same CPU, similar gfx hardware, same peripherials etc).
I am all pro this, because it would make sense. All VIC20 groups and many C16 groups ARE already on CSDb because of their C64 activity. |

I also think we should allow vic20/plus 4 series stuff here. now site is titled as "c-64 only" but we have 128 releases here already , and nobody complains , right? |

I'd second that, vic20 and plus4 are interesting platforms. |

Would it help if I started complaining then?
Still, the idea of a user-set filter isn't too bad, if you would also extend it to the type of info. So not just platform only, but for example 'demostuff on c64' only. |

i have nothing against other machines' stuff either - but there really should be a good way to filter, AND there should be clear rules about what belongs here and what not. there are already some "releases" which dont run on any computer at all, nor are documentation or whatever - such stuff doesnt belong here, imho. |

If it was up to me,I´d draw the line at C128/DTV.
Lets not change the "C" into Commodore!
Amiga stuff doesn´t belong here, eventhough many sceners went that way.. |
