Could originals and covers be judged in separate categories perhaps? |

What exactly is meant by "melodic"?
The only two subgenres coming to my mind, that actually contain the term would be "Melodic Death Metal" and "Melodic Hardcore" – I'm not aware of any "Melodic Chiptune" or "Melodic SID Tune" subgenres, are there?!? And what would be examples for those? *shrug* |

Spider-j: With nice melodies. So something like these would be great!:
/MUSICIANS/B/Blues_Muz/Gallefoss_Glenn/Slow_and_Cheesy_2SID.sid
/MUSICIANS/S/Shogoon/Raindropsies_2SID.sid
/MUSICIANS/S/Shogoon/Robin_2SID.sid |

A question for first timers here...How do these compo submissions work? Does a user upload a tune to CSDB and tag it in some special manner, link to it off the event page, etc.? Thanks. |

Isn't that 100% subjective perception? :) |

@chatGPZ: I guess it is. Maybe you can use the above mentioned 2SIDs as reference. Anyway just make 2SIDs in a way you think they are melodic and see what other people think about them. |

@bansai:
I'm not 100% sure how profound an answer you're looking for but it goes like this:
> Go to Userpage
-> Add Release
-> "Name of your tune [2sid]"
-> Edit Release Information
-> Fill in the release type "C64 Music"
-> Released at: "Yogi's & Flex' Melodic 2SID Compo 2024"
-> (choose) Compo:
*** C64 2SID for Original tunes
*** C64 Music for Cover tunes
-> Fill in release date
-> Upload the Screenshot and fill in the credits
-> Upload Files (both .sid and .prg)
Then you can mention the rest of the details in "Production Notes". Like Mono/Stereo + 6581/8580 + Address of 2nd SID + in case of cover tune mention the original... etc.. |
