C64 still alive... wow....

Just bumped upon this site. It's amazing to see that the C64 is still alive after 20 years. Nice to see that Maniacs of Noise is in the top 5 'groups' :)

cheers from Canada

Wow! I demand a 2006 remake of "Give It A Try". One of my absolute favorite songs of all time! Please. =)

can cdeenen still make good sids?, thats the question... if he cant the legend days is over... to be honest i am pretty much fed up with the "back in time" and "live new orcestra rob hubbard" stuff, if you know what i mean... these legends better start use the c64 again, if not its just better they stay gone, and dont ruin their legend status with the so called new stuff, that are made on todays synths or whatever unintressting instrument...

just my 2 cents

An old enthusiast is just popping in to say hello and everybody is expecting a full disk with new sids... oh my.

Nice to see that you found this site Charles, too bad you missed the party last weekend! I bet Jeroen Tel and Drax would've loved to see you :)

Hope you pop in more often!

i expect nothing but if this old enthusiast is gonne make any music, i hope he will start using the c64 again. and not pop up here to show off his new synths, if you know what i mean.. its to much of these legends that show no intresst in the c64 and only are intressting in showing their new stuff, that have nothing to do with the c64... anyway its nice to see him popin here to say hello :)

@Doc
Although I might even agree with you (with some exceptions and under some circumstances) this was not really the place to raise that point.

Now if your thinking of kidnapping a few of the oldies and throwing them into a closed room with nothing but working c64’s, alcohol and pizza’s I’ll be sure to find a few sponsors for you :)

@Charles
After discovering this website.. maybe I am assuming wrong.. but who knows you do not know anything about sidding in the last 20 years.. so on a long shot.. have you possibly discovered HVSC yet?

It’s a huge project containing thousands of sids (also yours):
http://www.hvsc.c64.org/

You can play them on any windows PC using sidplay2

Man Charles, you rocked back in the days (your tunes still do). We asked all the MoN guys that question (and a couple hundred others too), but not sure if we asked you yet:

Did you compose this?
http://www.c64.org/HVSC/DEMOS/UNKNOWN/Ninja_Remix.sid

I've always wondered who in 1988 could compose such a burner tune apart from the usual suspects...
