i haven't really come across these formats myself, but i think I've found a link that contains a player for all three of these formats:

http://www.pweighill.btinternet.co.uk/music/

sorry if it isn't the right place.

They are all made in COMPUTE!'s Sidplayer. MUS files contain music, STR files contain voices 4-6 for stereo music and WDS files contain the words to the tune.

All .mus files can be played with SIDPlay2.

Hmm, but shouldn't COMPUTE!'s Sidplayer tunes be included in HVSC??? Would make sense, as the most of them sound better than the BASIC rips. :)

For mus files, we have the Compute Gazette SID Collection (CGSC), which can be found on Weighill's site.

Read the HVSC docs for info why mus is not part of HVSC.

"Why aren't there any Compute Gazette SIDPlayer tunes in HVSC?

Mainly, because on average they do not sound as good as non-SIDPlayer tunes." ...

Hmm, but this is really a strange excuse. :-/
WTF?
Then, maybe they should remove _BASIC rips too???!!!

Nata, be honest.
Do you really really really really really really give a flying fuck why those shite Compute Gazette tunes aren't included in HVSC?
No? I thought so.

Now put a sock in it and start composing.

Is there any code example on how to play a .mus file inside an assembler routine? Most .sid files can be played by:
JSR INIT (e.g. $1000)
JSR PLAY (e.g. $1003)
and I just need to include FILENAME.SID in my code.

How does it work with .mus files?
