THE MOVERS Treasure Chest
Hi all ya guyz around here...
We've just started to open our Treasure Chest...
http://rapidshare.com/files/9304647/Hahni-Soft_of_WCS.ZIP.html
This first package are the transferred disks from Hahni Soft of WCS... WCS was just a local group. Jezi got later a member of Strike Force and Ruhrpott Cracker was also in the WCS (but actually we can't remember his handle at that time; we will add him then with his correct handle)...

ive been downloading stuff for about 10 years or more :) theres probably alot of stuff that's duplicated but ive never had a really good chance to sift through it all and start sorting it out really..
trying to recover the 150gb now but theres a good chance that most of it will be corrupt in some sort of way :(
ill keep trying to recover my old drive as theres some stuff you just cant download anymore :(
im getting the other torrent at approx 60kb at the moment so its going to take me a weeek to get that but its a start |

I could try helping with the recovery, though I guess you don't have a way of transfering the full disk image. I assume you've got "soft" corruption (file system errors, etc), or is it a dying drive? |

not sure exactly what happened but when i went to go into the drive it was saying that it needed formatting for some reason...so i ran chkdsk and it fixed some problems but still didnt work properly
then i tried a few different programs which came up with cluster errors and some of my stuff using the same cluster
using a program now to get everything off the drive but ive noticed that every single zip is corrupt and will need fixing
ive looked in .d64's and they are all corrupt too :(
so im trying various other ways to atleast get some of the stuff back without losing everything but nothing has worked so far
what did you have in mind ymgve??? what software would you use??? |

I would first use linux to create a full image of the disk, then store the image somewhere safe.
Then I'd try using this program: http://www.pcinspector.de/Sites/file_recovery/info.htm?language..
and if not...I'd try to do some manual recovery by examining the data directly |

Quote: I found some disks at a fleamarket, and they seem
to contain stuff from 83-86. Happy sorting!

I would try to use "GetDataBackNTFS" which is a great tool (on windows) and helped me recovering 90 of 120gb of a broken drive... pm me if you need it... |

good to hear you could recover most of your stuff, and yes, it's always good to have a backup (or two) of the important things. external drives f.e. are cheap nowadays... (c;
