Releases with never-found hidden parts?

Someone told me about a hidden part in Pretzeled (Pretzeled) that hasn’t been “officially” found as yet (there’s a clue how to find it but no 100% instructions)… and it got me thinking… are there many others out there unfound..?

Haha, well, like with the demo I mention, there are some where the makers have declared the parts but they’ve never been found ;p

I might be wrong by the way but I believe i was the one who found an old Tony Crowther demo on one of his games.. before joining the scene i was “employed” to make cheats/pokes for games .. which was similar to how tape games were cracked I guess (intercepting each section of a loader until the game was fully loaded). Anyway, I found an extra set of init code on whatever game it was - SYS’ing the alternate start gave the demo. AFAIK there wasn’t a way to access the demo other than SYS’ing it before starting the game. So that was a whole hidden demo…!

But anyway, I’m sure there’re other demos with hidden parts undeclared…

Well, it's a pretty obvious hint, press restore in the demo.

There are other entries that need to enter the hidden info yes.
Be aware if you write the hidden info in their demo entry, they gets their pants twised because "it was mEaNt t0 bE a sEcReT" "yoU SpOiLeD tHe FuN" and so on.
Well, fuck you guys, this is a scene database maintained by everyone with an account, and if one has extra info to enter, it will be entered, even if you don't like it.

Who complained about hidden part info being revealed? =)
(And they should have done the hiding more properly then.)

There's an extra field for that for a reason.

for example https://csdb.dk/release/?id=41460&show=hidden
but I had to remove others I don't remember right now due to similar complaints
I see now that after 18 years nobody entered any of the other hidden parts in it. GJ

Well… that’s quite an obscure clue tbh :p

A bit more difficult than, say, Bonzai’s “boot from side 2”!

nice topic.
I always wondered why in c64 slang those things are called "hidden parts" instead of a IMHO more appropriate and sexier "Easter eggs".

probably because those things are called (demo) parts by default, so hidden part is a logical extension.

also probably because in other languages easter egg is not an expression for something hidden. to my ears both words and the expression to my brain is terrible.

edit: oh its ze-smasher, I will never forget those IRC times, lets play ZE game ! :D

Quiss told me at X that there is one RFX demo left where a hidden part has not been found yet.

Given the Trivia info of it, Radio Napalm could be the candidate. Also Quiss being the creator. But I didn't dive in much deeper than running a breakpoint for keyboard action.

You didn't find it?
The Robin Hood archer clue was pretty obvious.

Yay Poland! :)

Then write it in the hidden parts infos. This is not a riddle game, when you know it, add the info.

Don't know if that counts but sometimes I leave stupid messages for iAN in my music releases because I know, if I don't upload the SID his sense of duty will force him to check the PRG XD

EDIT: oh, and there's a secret "skip" cheat in all No-Skip releases. But this is also not a real "hidden part".

EDIT2: oh, and of course I like it to be a "riddle game" ;-)

I guess that any undeclared ways to obtain any result that is not documented or deviates from the normal output of the program is ok to be described in "hidden parts".

One of the Swedish Chef/FST's seemingly simple releases has a secret part that is world's first implementation of a certain technique.

Not hidden part per se, but there is more images tahna is being shown in one loop. Those are being shown radnomly, so you might need to run multiple loops to see them all (or visit c64gfx.com)
well, i guess it does not qualify for never found :)

He’s meaning in despAIr. Not really hidden images…. But if people just watch the slideshow through once, they don’t see all the pictures. https://c64gfx.com/release/243084

The hidden picture in Operation Eindhoven has also not been found yet. I just posted another hint. If you like a challenge, try to find it by looking at the code. Well, unless you are BiGFooT, of course.

Funny that you got triggered, Bigfoot :)

I assume you analysed the keyboard routine? Ninja told me that it's cleverly hidden, so KUDOS for cracking it!

Found that "hidden pic" myself two days ago, but only by some weird guessing and a good bag of luck! Did not care to fill the hidden part notes up to now, and somehow I wanted to wait until someone finds it by means of proper "hacking skills". Happy this happened now :)

Yeah, I've analysed the routine and the tables. And what Ninja told you is right, it's cleverly hidden. It was a nice excercise to understand how it works.
