c64 xmas compo

Not sure if this is the best place but i guess it will do this way 8)
Ok, me and Trance thought about announcing a xmas c64 compo with everything allowed as long as it is xmas-related and startable with "RUN" (yep, also i-hate-christmas and why-i-shot-santa demos are allowed). This isn't 100% sure for now, so it would be nice to have some feedback if such a compo is generally accepted, if anybody want to take part and if you think that "everything into one big compo" is no good idea but we should announce a demo/intro-compo instead.
If there is some interest out there i hope a page about this will be up soon....
so give us your feedback, either here or at : http://62.141.33.128/forum/showthread.php?thread_id=6475&forum_.. Democompo&page=1

thanx,
santa pi

I wasn't answering your question :P

Snata demo was okay, but Role and Cybernator's demo's more cooler :)

In case someone still reads this, I have to tell about what bad luck can do to a coder.

I gathered some useful routines and combined them as a demo. This was my first demo effort and I put many expectations to it for the xmas compo 2002.

First of all I was unable to pack the demo. I tried AB cruncher with REU support to crunch a 202 block file. The packing process was OK, but the program didn't start properly. So I'd participate with unpacked file.

I don't have internet at home, so I had to go to my school in freezing cold walking against storm -class wind. Believe me, I'm not telling lies. I got to the school and sent the file, the 21st of december, long before the deadline.

I went home for Christmas and when I got back I couldn't see my dear demo as a compo entry. Later I found out the organizer's computer break down that same day losing my entry and a couple of others. But those others had internet etc. near them and they could send their entrys another time.

I'm not begging for mercy, but just telling why christmas demo competitions are rarely organized. At least in Finland we don't have internet in every house, so I had only one chance to send my entry. Please keep this in mind next year.

Hopefully I can get my demo released in near future.
Hopefully I have better luck next time.

But what can you say? Life is a bitch and then you die...

Well...
if there is a next compo like halloween-compo or oy2k3cc i will announce it earlier so also those without inet and those who prefer snail-mail can compete. The idea for this compo came basically on one evening while chatting with a little alcohol in me...:) (don't know about Trance (or his new handle i tend to forgot).

Hope it is ok if i would include your text you wrote in here to the bonus-demo on www.church64.de/christmascompo ?

Many thanx to all who took part of the compo and send me their entries.
Much thanx also to those who voted, even more thanx too all the people giving reactions with their votes (nice and not so nice ones).

The results will be up soon.
There will also be a bonus-release that didn't made it into the compo (as read before here).

greets,
pi

Congrats to Cybernator & Shake for winning the compo.
Releases should be soon on c64.sk and the compo-page ofcourse.

Hope next year there will even be more people taking part in it.
And hopefully there will be more people voting! There were only about 32 votes, what i think is quite lame.
