No. Unsurprisingly I know for a fact that I am NOT that other CCR, despite that we both are (apparently) from Finland and even have the same first name. :) |

Also why must different nicks of the same individual be merged or linked?
Some people have different nicks at the same time for different kinds of production, and no desire for those nicks to be related to each other, not to speak of being traceable to the same person. |

because we can, and it makes sense. the DB is not about what individual nicks desire. (edit: as it was demonstrated through a string of scandals) |

If you don't want your alternative nicks linked, don't tell anyone who is behind it, it's that simple :)
I challenge everyone to link my other nicks for that matter - there are still a couple left :) |

I think one point of note is that had I not been here to say otherwise, this erraneous attribution might have had happened. (It already did once before, someone made the same mistake of thinking me and that other CCR were the same.)
I've seen the similar mistakes being made in demozoo as well.
I am not saying that people should avoid combining entries, but the burden of proof should be better than "used same handle, came from same country" or such. :) |

Added a "Not to be confused with" note in the handlestory comments on both scener entries, in the hope it will be read and taken into consideration if this possible mixup happens in the future. |

Quoting iAN CooG...hope it will be read and taken into consideration ...
Thanks!
Though some users even upload their newly created own stuff and manage to credit wrong sceners, let's hope, as there's no better solution ;) |

Being a "scene-detective" with sometimes lacking material from the early days is many times challenging.
Still, eventhough 1+1 is usually 2, things need to be triple-checked before actions.
I've already done one hell of a job with the Finnish early scene, now having a pretty decent register of real names, handles, groups, addresses etc.
...still not complete, of course.. |
