VOTESHEET / .prg FILES in one ZIP / VOTE! | What's Up cover und remix compo

ENTRIES: What’s Up Cover und Remix Compo

Rules:

Source material: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NXnxTNIWkc

Song lyrics: https://www.metrolyrics.com/whats-up-lyrics-4-non-blondes.html

Basic rules

0. As title of compo says. It's compo of remix and covers - any creative approach to the original material.
1. Max 1 tune per musician. Other attempts will go to "released outside compo section" you decide which one. If you make another tune. You can replace previous entry by new tune. You can't undo this later.
2. Results will be based on CSDB votes. Voting will be closed on 30.11.2019 23.59.
3. Silent and GFX entries not allowed. We know that some of you might call that an improvement over the original song, but no. You can't do that.

Just you wait. I might add a Ace of Base compo for next Gubbdata if I must!

In my unmatched wisdom I counter hedning's feeble threats by considering to crush the scene by launching an Axel F theme Compo ;)

Is my SID-Sample player allowed to stream data from external media such as disk or cart?

Depends on how much actual creative composing, arranging or mixing will be involved in final track. As with any msx compo I have organized, an actual listeneable and cool music is expected to be participating. It's a serious music compo after all. If you can't put together awesome music and just want to release something for whatever reason, entry can still be released as of compo anyway.

Also. Can it be turned to .sid? Is the simplest denominator.

.SID as requirement makes sense, btw normally no big deal to turn samples into that format. Being afraid of compo kiling samples per se / entries not being creative enough for whatever reason etc doesn't make much sense imho, however. Voters normally will have a good sense for whether something is just hunted through some digitizer or contains well-made samples and yet is cool art.

Exactly. That's why I'm not against music using samples. It's still music and can be judged as that.
