Release id #193492 : The Finger
Some interesting controversy on this release..
It was 100% copied from a Facebook meme that was going around. I didn't hide that - I very clearly redrew the original. I'm no Photoshop wizard, for sure... but I managed it ;-) (a combination of hollow edged shapes and then copy, paste, free transform, etc etc).
That this caused a controversy for some ... is interesting. Particularly coming from some who, years ago, were rampant with plagiarism and quite proud to be winning party graphic competitions with such ;-) ("but I was a teenager!" is a lame excuse by the way).
I was separately, over Messenger, told "Don't do it again, it's not that fun"... to me, that's like a red cloth to a bull. I will never - and I would never expect any other scener - do what other sceners tell me. Even if it were the CSDB mods telling me that, I wouldn't care less .. CSDB is a scene database - it's NOT the scene... that's something that people need to try to remember.
These odd releases are as much a part of the scene as others IMO.. if they upset some, even in their innocence (hell, it's a 2020 logo - without a nipple in sight!), then all the better...
I'd actually much rather release something like this than to flood CSDB with a ton of crappy tiny-PETSCII releases - which at least one of the complainants was definitely guilty of.
Negative comments on CSDB are one thing .. but to ask someone to "Don't do it again".. seriously.. you might want to rethink who in the heck you think you are. |

Screw it. and have fun of doing c64 stuff! That's all that matters on scene. |

I'm 99% with you Raistlin! I even cracked your masterpiece with this 3 minutes work: The Finger + . lol.
about the missing 1%: that tiny petscii compo was fun IMHO. ok, let's not do it again till next decade or so... :) |

If it's a failure, don't do it again, because failure.
If it's a success, don't do it again, because boring.

I haven't seen any info on reference and few people thought it's your idea. Only later you have added trivia. Kind of weird to me. |
