Release id #106618 : Movecombination Two

Here Mr. Mad (RIP!) mentions some "joystick LED effects" that he made, apparently referring to one specific stick. As I understand it, it was in some previous demo, and he wanted to add new effects in an upcoming demo.
I wonder what this is about - anybody knows?

So far my memory goes, is was used in the demo "pfdj" in the intro with the music from Tron (hawaian punch), the drive led and some joystick with leds in it (cant remember which one) flashed in sync with the digi's.

Mr. Mad was talking about the intro of PFDJ.
A fancy joystick that The Beast owned had, besides some autofire shenanigans and a weird trackball-like case, also a LED parallel across the fire button. So every time you pressed a button it would light up. And it was wired up so simple, using the voltage from the joy-port, that if you switched the joystick port to outputs i/o inputs you could make it light up by setting the appropriate bit to 1.
It sounded all very fancy but it was actually easier then lighting up the drive LED.
I doubt it will work with more modern joy/controller hardware.
We don't have it anymore but here is a link to one for sale with a picture.
Spectravideo Quickshot IX
Do yourself a favor and don't spend money on this. It's utterly useless as a controller and there are much cheaper and easier ways to see a blinking LED.

Go ahead but, eh...
Our friend wasn't called Mr. Mad for nothing. He was as fearless as he was genius.
And as such:
Disclaimer, bla bla bla. Not liable, bla bla bla, damage, property, bla bla bla, etc. ;)
Nice that our old stuff gets a bit of attention like this, though, thanks!

Finally got to try it - pretty nice effect. :-)
I wonder if the digi tune, which is great, is actually ripped? It is not linked to the release in any case

@bugjam, what do you mean? The digi tune in PFDJ? That tune is linked to the release.

It is Hawaiian Punch
