New to CSDb, my old tune and some im working on :)
Hi! I've been working on music every now and then for a couple years.. started with Famitracker as it was more accessible to me, then i learned Sidwizard once i made a Pi1541 to save to disk with my 64, as well as play with other programs i couldnt with just a Tapecart. I dont have a great understanding of music... i like to think ive improved, but most of what ive worked on has been covers. still, i wanted to show my first sid tunes ive been working on... id love feedback!
My first tune was released to HVSC here
Alien 3 Title
, not associated with any program, just made for fun.
Heres a video of a couple of ones ive been working on for a bit and havent finished just yet.
The prehistoric tale tune is mostly finished, maybe some things to tweak, the Herzog song i have more work to do...
Again, still no great skill at music.. i always seem to struggle trying to make original stuff, so all of my famitracker stuff, for instance, for the most part is covers tooo.. i just like music!
One thing about my first tune, the Alien one, i didnt have the best sid so the filter on the bass sounded different for me, so its a bit loud in the intro... oops
Ive mostly kept to myself besides uploading some of what i work on and finish to YouTube, but i wanted to branch out a little.

You've got wrong notes in bassline in pattern 0B in prehistoric tale. Try C instead of A#. Try also some more slides(careful though), delayed vibrato and pwm for the lead. The lead also feels like it's buried under all the other instruments. Otherwise not bad effort.

Oh yeah, that was early into the song so i never remembered to go back and fix that, thanks
Also making leads too quiet seems to be a common issue of mine... idk why
I think ill try messing with the pwm values for the lead instrument, and pitch shifting and vibrato in parts to make it more interesting, maybe.
The most tricky thing for me was for sure transcribing the chords.. i struggled figuring out which was what from the chord samples from the original tune. Glad i figured out a method to record individual Paula tracks to make it easier to transcribe Amiga stuff
