Gotek/FlashFloppy-style SD-card interface for real 1541

SvOlli made me aware of this: https://github.com/ThKattanek/1541-rebuild

This is pretty much the ideal solution for maximum compatibility while getting rid of the movable parts and having lots of storage space.

If there's any drive emulator which would be okay to use in demo compos, this is it. =)

Agreed. I can't think of a demo effect that you couldn't get to work on such a device (apart from drive sounds). Maybe something that deliberately uses reads during track stepping to mix data between tracks?

Would be surprised if that couldn't be emulated convincingly.
"Just" needs a good physical model for head inertia, track-step sound production and motor on-off PWM. Bonus for drive chassis resonance filter on top. =)

If you manage create a model like this, you should invert it and play samples on the drive!
