Yogi's tips #1: Affordable retro handheld which can also play C64 productions
Hi guys,
I want to share this with you.
I'm having so much fun with this.
For the ones that haven't heard of it I recently bought this device:
https://k-tec.uk/product/miyoo-mini-plus-retro-handheld/
It's great to be able to play f.i. C64 games everywhere.
These are the platforms it supports:
https://k-tec.uk/2023/07/21/what-can-the-miyoo-mini-plus-play/
I bought it in Holland for 80 euros.
You also have to buy an additional microSD card and put the Onion OS and games on it:
https://onionui.github.io/
Most of the games of different platforms for it can be downloaded for free from:
https://archive.org/
Hope some of you can also have a lot of fun with this!
Greets,
Yogi |

Very cool, y'all. Maybe once I've caught up with some other things I need to upgrade or replace. |

I've read several people complained about AliExpress not delivering or f.i. not refunding.
If you're lucky they will deliver! |

No issues here with AliExpress at all. I've had refunds for products as well. I would probably say I've made a few hundred purchases for people and myself over the years without any problems. Not sure who you've been talking to but I would say they just had no clue or 'heard it from a friend'.
Also other options are the wildly popular R36S models or the older SF2000. They have a large following with custom firmware, modification tools, etc. I tend to use Rocknix when possible and for the SF2000 the multi-core firmware. |

I've read first on the Dutch version of Trustpilot some people complained about AE.
Found the same on the English version:

Yes I believe you there are enough fine alternatives for MM+ with which I have no experience with. |

Although the SF2000 is a little under-powered to do C=64 properly from what I remember. Something to do with sound problems I believe. Maybe that's been fixed. Haven't kept up on it lately. |

you need to play around with the VICE settings. I think reSID is acceptable, everything else hogs the processor and sounds awful |
