Adding recracks?

Should recracks also be added to the database (for the sake of scenehistory)?
Good example is Total Recall +4 where the original F4CG crackintro was replaced by another one.

I agree. Anything ever released with relation to the C64 scene can/should be added to CSDb, as long as it is properly categorized.
So, who is in favor for a "Recrack" releasetype?

Should be a flag instead of a new release type. Its not like the person(s) releasing a recrack intended for others to notice that it was a recrack. Thereby from the release pov it was a crack.

and perhaps we could implement this flag as a little text-field, which can hold some lines to describe the 'where you can see its a recrack'
if there is text inside this field: its a recrack, could result in something like (for example on Total Recall)

...
Release Date :
12 March 1991

Type :
C64 Crack
Recrack - trainer menu says: "Cracked and Trained by Fen1/F4CG"

from time to time ;)

Yesterday, I started testing a lot .d64 and .t64 that a friend give to me a month ago, and discover that many are Argentinian cracks and recracks, there's even some releases by F4CG, TRIAD and other european groups that are not on CSDB.

Some of the Argentinian stuff, have been recracked, and have a different intro, but the trainer exposes it as a recrack, while others have the Argentinian intro first and then the original intro. For the last ones, should I add both groups in the release info?

@The_Woz: Yes, there's lots of Triad cracks that are not on CSDb. Feel free to add them if you like, just make sure to only add complete releases.

The problem I have with adding recracks is that it leaves too much open for abuse for people to flood csdb with nonsense/trivial fixes/stupid recracks, ala wdr.

Some common sense is required - if the recracks are current, and appear to be nothing more than a shitstir from a antisocial whackjob, I say we ignore their existance. If theyre from 1993 then theyre probably more interesting and worthy of the bytes on Perff's disk.

My 2c.

Yes, the latest recracks I have are from 1992, maybe 1993. 8-bit scene died very early over here.

Still finding a lot of new stuff and just started testing the files on the [c-e] directory of t64 images! Around 500 images to go.

imho quality shouldn't matter, everything should be preserved. BUT there should indeed be some way to flag such stuff so people who aren't interisted in it can filter it out.
