Neuromancer/CPX, working version
Looking for a working version of Cyberpunx' crack of Neuromancer. The versions I have (admittedly retrieved from dodgy sites) all crash when entering The Gentleman Loser. This also goes for Soci's IDE64-fix, which is based on CPX's crack. I can't believe it was broken when it left Count Zero's and L'trimm's hands...

You also said you wanted someone with the originals.
Well, I also have those, yeah, real untouched original disks, which I could nibble and upload... |

I did? Where?

Pete Rittwage at c64preservation.com would be happy to receive a set of disks to compare to the two sets he already has.

Nice. And this one even works :)
Turns out 5 bytes were broken in the aforementioned 0c092-file. Using the file from Neuromancer fixes Neuromancer. Crazy Edo's will still need fixing, though... |

Didnt know there is a thread on it - sorry :)
We really played the complete game several times as there was no rush, so it should be 100% apart from the text bug which interplay introduced to the IRS database.
Please test the upload and rant any problems at me.
It is unlikely there will be another release for special hardware or as iffl or alike by me although I sure would find some things the game could use as improvement. :)

C0: I *knew* I should've been clearer :) I wasn't talking about your recent upload. Entering Crazy Edo's leads to crashes in the corrupted CPX version that (among others) the IDE64-fix is apparently based on. The broken IDE64 version can probably be repaired by copying the data files from Neuromancer (your recent upload -- linked for future reference), as this version appears uncorrupted. |

:)
Actually the term "fix" is probably starting the whole confusion :)
Something using standard routines (and therefore working with about any drive and speeder from Jiffy to Prologic) shouldn't require "fixing" to work on some special device. There is a flaw in the IDE64 approach imho. :)
Well, whoever does an easyflash version, contact me...
