Authority/Genie debugg, What zipper/Packer anyone??
I got the Autority/Geniedemo to only decrunch by altering the
startadress to rts hmm...
But the zipper/packer unzip/pack routine seems corrupt,
Does anyone know of a oldschool packer/zipper
that makes the basicline "6000 sys2061" ??
If i found out what packer it is i could probably "mount" the packed data onto another file, replacing it`s depack routines?? |

I don't recognize the sys line but the most likely problem if depacking fails is that the data is corrupt, not the depacker routine.
Doesn't Unp64 V2.26 recognize it?
Otherwise, post it some more people can have a look.

Crunched twice with time 4.2 according to unp64.
$ unp64 -c authority.prg

"header" means the code that prints the message, then copies in the real decruncher; you get the same thing from the various 'improved' versions of Cruel Cruncher. So really that's just one decrunch pass before bombing out.
I think the decruncher code IS broken or corrupted, though. It should eventually reach

but I tried setting a breakpoint at 036c and it never did! Instead the decruncher overwrites itself with junk and eventually runs into spaces which can be interpreted as JSR $2020, which doesn't help anything. :) |

@Urban Space Cowboy: i believe, broken packed data causes the overwrite, not the depacker routine. random memory mass is a typical side-effect of corrupted packed data. |

But, I discovered this is not the Genie release i am looking for, No introcoding by my friend Lloyd in this one,
