Introduction

Greetings all. I am new here to this forum.
I created a game called Killer games 2001, and composed music and music-player routines for it.

I am interested in composing music to some scene production.

Just feel that I have to add the obligatory link to 1541 Ultimate regarding 2). Not exactly using the PC as a diskdrive, but on the other hand it works with custom loaders, which is a blessing.

Well, actually, if you have one of these and a USB extension cord, you could have both the 1541U and your pc connected to the card at once... Take that idea a bit further and make a SD->USB cable and a fancy driver for the pc and you're there ;-)

Yes you can use Netdrive with the 1541U by flashing The Final Replay 08, which takes 10 seconds to do. I have done this and use this occasionally. This makes your C64 see your PC as a diskdrive.
I mainly use the Soundemon version of TAsm/codenet that already comes on the 1541U. Basically a modified Action Replay 6 that includes TMP and Codenet.

BUT, I don't think the newest version of the 1541U is going to include the built-in ethernet interface oO which just makes my mind boggle as to WHY?!?!?

This reminds me again, i was recently thinking of some kind of page, perhaps here on csdb, or somewhere else on the net where all kinds of info for either beginners or people who return to the scene to make life easyer.

There are tons of new technologies, programs and processes developed to make life for the c64 scener easyer. And while looking through threads on the csdb sound nice, it actually is not.

Does anyone know a place like that? Somewhere where people can get the information from one place?

For example: i did gfx, and came back to find Timanthes and Project One and a bunch of other tools. It would be nice if there was a place where links/tips for these things would be stored in one place.

What does everyone else think?

A simple page with a list could be all we need.
Like:

most used assemblers:
1
2
3

most used music programs:
1
2
3

most used copy programs:
1
2
3

most used fullscreen gfx editors:
.
.
.

most used charset editors:
.
.
.
.

and so on, and it says that these are the recommendations, made in the year 2009.

then in 2010 we make a status, and update the page.

call it something like: beginners guide to tools for the C64 scene..

Jan: great thoughts. The mods are now discussing this, as soon as we reach a discission and plan we will come back on this.

nice idea but personally I think codebase would be a much better place for that.

Quote: 2) retro replay+rrnet or mmcreplay+rrnet and The Final Replay rom. Use codenet to transfer code and netdrive to access the pc as a drive.

4) konv1 can convert wav to 4 bit samples

I've just got this set up using Mac/OSX and it works like a charm. :D

(The codenet bit)
