Best SID instrument?
Well, topic kinda says all.
The tune itself doesn't have to be good at all, only the instrument(s). ;)
'Impulse' by Taki has some pretty awesome 16x drums.
And just to make it a bit less complicated to choose instruments: NO SAMPLES.

Are you talking only about Drums, but also about Synths, like leads, arpeggios and stuff?

Hard Track by my danska buddy, JEFF. Great snare sounds and weird distorted bass! The Help of God, the Love of the People, the Strength of Søren Lund! ;) Danes will know what I'm on about...

Also the drums at the start of this track...

The lead instrument in the Ocean Loader tune v1 by Mr. Galway is ace, but the way it's used counts for a lot too.. Love the way he phrases the melody..
Personally I just love the old Hubbard tam sound.. That's cool, but I'm probably pretty alone on the preference :)

Fanta's bass-sound in Natural Wonders sweeps the floor with every bass sound I had ever heard. Amazing...
