Yeh, I was in a small amiga group called Jinx, and we joined Digital Force somewhere in '89 I think .. not too long after that the group disbanded though. Morris/Jinx (who you may remember of being in Analogue with us) was very good friends with people like Joreon, Metin & Ramon of Digital Force.
Did you know that Ramon was the producer of a quite big dutch dance hit a couple of years ago? |

Heh Marco my memory isnt that bad - I can remember Jinx alright, and Morris aswell (how is he anyway?) but I cant recall the connection to Digital Force. I knew Ramon was producing real music, but didnt know about the dance-hit.
@Rambones: I will ask MSK if he still has contact to Nicolai Thilo. |

Well, it was more of a "we're friends anyway, why not join up" kinda thing, no biggie. I think we only did 1 demo under the Digital Force label, but it's been a long time since I've seen it, all I can remember is that I wrote the scrolltext :)
And hey, look what I found: http://www.euronetizen.nl/archief/engels/december2000/euro13.ht..
It was a pretty big hit, kinda novel because the singer sang in Dutch instead of English.
Morris is fine btw, he'll be having his birthday tomorrow (5 days older than me), and he's the father of a boy, aged 3 now I think. He's spending most of his free time in a different computer-related area now: http://www.nu2.nu
You can even find some of his gfx and music here ;) |

Cool. Sarah.nl, not available anymore, was partly done by Orc/Blackmail, he mainly did javascripting for that site. Small world, eh?
I remember Ramon from WWE-JOY-MGF party, I was only 14 or so, he made some covers of famous tunes (A level 42 cover, Dallas theme) on our Amiga, with burps n yodels as samples. I was very impressed with it, I think Edwin van Santen was aswell, since he did his c64 1988-Mega-Mix shortly after Ramon's live Amiga gig.
Congrats to Morris. |

Yeah, Ramon was famous for his strange tracks, with the "Ode to Ramon" demos (2 of them) as the definitive collection. Ofcourse to really get the most out of his work, you had to understand dutch ('ga je douchen'). He even did a variation on one of his songs for me (Tdj, oh nee!), made me feel proud & ashamed at the same time :Z
Digiblaster/Jinx (who was a WWE member on the c64) also did some songs in the same style, I remember that on the Jungle Command party in Utrecht his track was played and somebody said: "haha, another great one by Ramon" :)
And so we've hijacked this thread and made it about the dutch amiga scene 1988-1990 ;)

Exactly! Must try to get those tracks sometimes, I still have an A500 + A1200 here, and the individual demos if I'm correct but it would be so much easier to have them on my pc ;) |

Quote: Yea, Kim Andersen aka Danecrew is me.. Oh well.. Deja vu feeling coming on there.. Mr. Smart was in Danecrew aswell, later Contex, don't really know what happened there, but maybe Mason knows...
Dogfriend joined Dominators and went high on cracking for a couple of years.... Don't really know whatever happened to Razor Express, JTC was a good friend of mine back then, but he sort of vanished....good grief..
Most of the names on that list rings a lot of bells, but I cannot help you, sadly..
Razor Express went out of business after the founder Trap had been around in different groups, such as Abnormal, Success and finally ended up founding Bonzai. Trap just entered the "building" here, so maybe he can bring back the last remaining pieces to solve the puzzle on that one.. :o) |
