can anyone tell me when using vice how u can emulate the joystick??

@devia: you're saying to use the mirrored-display to cause 60hz on the panel, with "no-screen" attached to the port? might be a workaround....
the internal normoally only has 40 & 50hz modes available, as the X-series (intel 915, btw) is using lower rates to save power.
of course, getting it to work @50hz is optimal for obvious reasons, but i'll see if i can "trick" it into 60, i didn't try that - just noticed that it does work propelry on the external display, so it must be something very specific about the internal display or a difference in the way the drivers behave there.

Woohoo!! I finally got Vice running smoothly on my ThinkPad.
I just downloaded the latest ATI Catalyst driver and used this tool to mod it for my ThinkPad: http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/
- and now vice takes about 1-2% CPU instead of 99% ;-)

here's another question.
can you get a real 1541-ii to run with vice???
also if you have stuff from floppy that you want to load into a program how do you do that?? |

There was at one point cbm4linux patches to do it on that platform... i assume there are windows patches too. who knows. worked once for me, in any case, tho fastloaders of course don't :). |
