Demo Parts / Effects Anthology

I was looking over some old demo from compunet the other day and it got me wondering. Would it be possible to create a list of demo effects, the they were first done and the coder who created them.

I know in the past, somoe people have released an effect and then someone has 'said' that they had the idea for the same effect before.

anyone think this is possible ?

Right.. like nobody 'remembers' how to do a FLI scroll anymore :D.. I still dont know what a DYCP-splitter is though :D Is this one of the forgotten skills?

WVL: I guess Jan meant DYSP over rastersplits. But there are some old Megastyle demos with dycp's over rastersplits aswell. Kalle Kloak (Mini dycps with fld over 'splits') and Aaargh comes into mind.

@WVL: ..but, you don't know what a DYCP-splitter is. How can you make one? ;P.

Anyway, the anthology idea is nice, but i would think there are way to many kinds of effects, and routines *almost* the same, variations etc. It would be quite hard to do a fair anthology really.

Rebels on the Amiga did something similar for the first era of c64 demos.

It's quite funny, but that demo just popped up in my head.

That could be one way: A long scroll-text, variations of effects and beautiful artwork moving from chars, hires and bitmap,
FLI to NUFLI and some fast trackloader-system all together and the likewise with sound. From dramatic, emotional guitar solos to clockworks and bolts.

It's nice to see everyone posting here, but how about we start getting back to the original idea of the subject and not into a dicussion about who can and cannot code routines.

How about we start listing effects and then maybe, just maybe we could get some coders / graphicians / musicians and create the anthology demo as the ultimate 64 tribute demo.

@case: I think your question is too general. If you ask people something more specific, about some specific effect or VIC trick, I think the discussion may get going.
