Being an FC3 guy, I just don't understand why people are so fond of the AR6 :) I just care about features (and the SSv5 has that in spades), and decent F-keys (and dW are making them configurable).
F7-F5-F3 FTW!

Load turbotape games \o/ Edit sprites and charsets in the monitor. And according to the advertisements the desktop turns the c64 into an amiga(almost) |

Don't you forget the Notepad (word-processing on your C-64) and the handy DLINK-option making it possible to develop f.ex spreadsheet software for your desktop environment.
Seriously though, I really hate the fact that the AR uses white all over, that the monitor lacks EC and more commands. The spriteeditor is pretty worthless since it screws up after one sprite.
The problem with Count Zeros development of the Retro Replay is that he tried to make too big steps at a time. I'd be happy if he just could have removed the annoying usage of white, flushed the outright useless parts out of the freezer and added EC to the monitor. |

what can dlink, and EC do more closely? I liked the white thing as it increased readability, and I used myself white even before getting an AR. The desktop thingie is cute, but never found it useful, I prefered the type saving short AR commands all over the place. Turbo tape was probably useful for some weird UK types, but int the happier places in the world including behind the iron curtain, ppl had disk drives ;) |

EC == Edit Char in monitor..
So like m1000 1008, you can command EC 1000 1008, which will show the memory contents as bits.
ec1000 .**.***.
ec1001 .***.***
etc
ES does the same, but 3 bytes in one row (sprite). Too bad ES always forgets to _not_ display byte 63 ;) (or 64 depending on how you count) |

nice for a fast hack, but true geeks can draw a charset by entering bytes in hex/dec ;) |

I really like the charset monitor in Super Snapshot v5, useful for hacking chars and modifying charsets... |

Well the point here is that SSv5 does everything AR6 does, plus it has things like REU support in the monitor.
