CSDb is soooo slow right now, why?

Hey Perff!

I noticed CSDb is reacting dead slow during the last 2 weeks or so. On average it takes between 1 and 5 seconds for a new page to build up after every klick of a link. Especially when adding or modifying entries this is getting really really tiresome. Any clue to where the problem could be and when it will be fixed?

I tried from several PCs around here (work, home, friends) and the problem persists, just in case that helps.

heh, wanna try with my 56k modem? 5-10 seconds per click is way faster than me :)

I'm not whining, just providing honest feedback: It's still damn slow from whereever I access CSDb (work/home/friends), heavy lag of 5-10 seconds after clicking a db link. :-/

Hm. Can't find anything wrong with the server this time. Yes, it sometime takes 2-3 seconds for a page to show up if there is a lot of info, but it is very rare I experience it takes any longet than that.
Can you supply more info? Specific pages that are slow - perhaps some which are not? (pages like help should not be, as almost no data are looked up)

Well, I can't narrow it down anymore than "every goddamn link gives me the waits" and then I'm like "OMG I'm getting the headbangs on table! You stupid webserver you, load, load LOAAAAAAD!!!!111"
Maybe CSDb is emulating a 1541 without speeder now? :D

(Edit: And I really tried from a lot of different places, it's all the same. About every thenth link is there like "WOOSH, at the ready!" but the rest is like "YEAH... I'M COMING... Give an old man some time...". Can't express it any more vivid than that.)

Slowdowns and hickups on CSDb happened to me all the time while I was an Opera user. And still happens when I occasionally browse with it on my other computer.
I'm using Firefox now, on a 1Mbit connection, from Serbia. The average page load time of CSDb is about 2 seconds. Even Wrath Designs's monster-page loads in ~3.5s. Constantly.

Edit: actually, very short pauses (~1-2s) occur sometimes when sending data to Google Analytics.

What Steppe isn't telling us, is that he's sitting somewhere in Africa next to a 419 scammer in a hut with a 14k4 dial-up.

Anyways, speed is a-okay here (in .nl).

@Scout: LOL! The slowest I've tried it on was 768 kbit DSL, but it wasn't really much slower than on the 6 Mbit or 16 Mbit lines that are common around here meanwhile, ahem. ;-)

no db-problems on my side here. then again i have clear sight right towards denmark, maybe that's it.

edit: i used to get weird messags concerning me causing too much load on the server some 6 months ago everytime i logged in while everybody else claimed that those messages never pop up, so maybe things might have taken a slight turn there. =)
