SPACE FOR C64 ???

What kind of space do you have for C64 ?
Do you keep it in cardboard box and put it in livingroom when needed ? Or do you have a proper room for it ?

I have kept my C64s in storage.... boxes, storage rooms....
But now when we bought our own house, I have started to build own room for my C64s C128s Amigas and other computers.

Just curious how others do it ?
(I suppose girlfriends and wifes aren't Commodores best friends :) )

i only have a long kind of 'desk' in my sleeping room. about a couple of months my house is ready to live in (building still in progress) and then i can use 1 room as computer/study room. on my desk you see from left to right my psx, sx64 connected to a monitor and then my pc.

Very simple: A table in the left corner of my bedroom. On this table rests a Sony Black Trinitron (the small version to have a monitor-like feel - I used to have a 1084S, but it died a painful death :( ). Then of course a c64-II (+AR7) and a 1541-II. Rounding off the picture are a couple of disk boxes with utilities, workdisks, and of course demos demos demos.

The other computers and consoles are in another part of the room. They will never get even close to my c64 setup =).

I cant stand to add my 2 cents :) I have a big table, at the left side a TV and a c128 in front of it. right side: a PC, 2 14" monitor on an amplifier. Two big speakers under the table, and an old 5x86 pc for the other monitor, which is used to xfer c64 disks, with a 1541II on the top of it. Sadly my a1200 and its monitor had to go into the wardrobe. (2 monitor+TV+pc takes up all table width..)

An idea for a website, we submit photos of our c64 setups and try inspire those too lazy or such to do the same!!

Hmm my setup is

Has it's own desk

C64C
1084S Monitor
1571-drive
1541-II-drive
FD-2000 drive
Retro Replay Cart
PTV-4player adaptor

all the disk boxes are packed away except the most recent or used ones.
The PC is a slave and is in the other corner of the room, same with all the other modern junk.

Glory to the C64 shrine, makes the dataroom glow and gives sceners data-tan!

Rambones:The main reason I disconnected Antidote back when it was running on dialup was because the bbs scene was dying and the calls dried up. During the years that passed since then, I missed the boardscene (and ofcourse my own bbs) immensly. When the possibilities to connect a c64 to the net became clear to me, me and Tao/TRIAD began to work on it right away, modifying c*base and the gateway program (with help from Univerz/instinct and La-Style/G*P). The result was better than I even dared to dream of, and in less than one year I´ve had almost 4500 "calls". Quite natural really, everyone have internet nowadays and can easily access it, most don't even own an old-fashioned modem anymore. Dialup boards are dead, but the boards might see a new dawn on the c64 scene aswell...

well, http://www.cbmgallery.com/... it has photos of many C64 setups, so such a website like you suggested already exsists :)

Btw, my sharp eye noticed the Risen from Oblivion directory on your screen WVL, and I saw that there were a crossbow.bmp there. So to my amazment I extracted that image hoping to know what the forever mysterious crossbow looks like. The picture quality was however really bad and can't be used to recognition. :p The others were good though.

JackAsser,
talking about a photo about Xbow, rename Don't meet Crest.d64 to .jpg and see what happens. :)
