Why Richard WHY?

I just learned of the sad news that Richard Bayliss, hero to us all, has decided to leave both Civitas & Covenant, to Concentrate on his Coding for Crypt. Surely, this is a black day for the scene, and we all need to be strong to survive this terrible, terrible ordeal.

Though it is not our place to doubt the great one's decisions, it still puzzles me why he has taken this step. One can only hope that one day he will join the ultimate-group-whose-name-starts-with-a-c (Crest), for it is that day that we all will find our inner peace.

Now please join me in a prayer ..

Quote: Fierman, did I say anything about Richard's work? No. All I did was make fun of Richard's "big" announcement, both at www.c64.sk and here (yes Oswald, he posted here as well).

Personally, I don't care how many groups he is in, I just think it's very funny that he seems to think it's so important it merits this much attention. And if it's attention he wants, it's attention he gets, it's that simple.

And Hollowman, I'd rather be an attention-whore than the arrogant little bitch you are.

TDJ: right. that wasnt exactly clear from your first post. (and i dont check .sk on an hourly basis too)
I might have jumped to conclusions too fast maybe.

and as far as your last line concerns: can't we all just get along?

Funny coming from the guy who is always trying to get attention by interrupting any attempt at discussion here with "jokes" or vaguely related anecdotes usually containing the keywords "since 1988" or "cycleburner".

Isnt it a bit arrogant to start a thread to ridicule richard because you think he isnt important enough?
And i rather be an arrogant little bitch than a big arrogant self absorbed bitch constantly polluting the once good csdb forums

Dude, this would have come off so much more honest if you didn't start your little 'war' with me ever since I had the nerve to criticize one of your productions. Face it: ever since you started to believe your own hype you became a huge twat.

Funny thing is, maybe I'm ridiculing Richard (or at least his actions), but you have been trying to do the exact same thing with me for a long time now. Pot, kettle, black? Only too bad that you're even less funny than I am (the sunglasses on your csdb picture tell a lot in that aspect).

Plus, you can say what you want of me, but at least I don't act like I'm the second coming of Jesus Christ. I know not to take myself too serious - if only you could do the same regarding yourself.

Everytime some people don't get along with eachother and begins to debate the thread needs to be closed? I don't understand that, really. BLAH BLAH BLAH!

I´m getting fed up with these ACTIVE discussions.

It is better to release CRAP and by this definition you are ACTIVE?

LAME STAYS LAME, even in 2006.

And btw, Richard could laugh about himself and is mostly not that bigmouthed, so I could live with HIM.

What about dividing the remaining so-called SCENE?

Maybe some groups and people could be elite then...

Before things go out of hand I'd like to apologize: I don't want to make this another 'he sucks she sucks' thread, far too many of those around. So Hollowman, take your best shot, tell me the truth but I won't respond on it here.

There are some other things I'd like to respond on though (esp. the 'you must be active before you can give a comment' stance), but maybe another/a new thread is a better place for that, or none at all ofcourse.

Finally I would like to say that I have nothing against Richard at all, but sometimes it seems people just want to be taken the piss off, and I am not always strong enough to resist. So if you look at it like that, actually Richard owes *me* an apology ;)

It might surprise people to know that I actually like Richard a lot. But I had to laugh at the newspaper headline style "OFFICIAL - "... it's like a UN charter or some such thing :)

Quote: Richard is a very friendly human and scener. He is also one of my best C64 scene friends. The world need more humans like Richard, than it would be a more peacefull world!

He's not human... he's a cyborg ;-)
