What's you favorite?
A number of times I've been surprised when listening to tunes that for some or the other reason have been suggested for listening by other users of this forum. I thought that some of you would like to share some of your favourites with the rest of us. It could probably broughten our horizons and at least let people hear some tunes that haven't gotten the attention they disserve. Anyone up for it? |

Quote: Sounds nice... I am not sure but I vaguely remember that compo and I even think I contributed but I am not sure... Maybe I just thought of contributing ;)
Drax, it could be you also have contributed back in those days, though I haven't found a complete list yet, those are the ones I could recover so far:

Anders Jansson (Mr. Wedge/Fairlight on Future-Composer 2)
Bjoern Fogelberg (Knatter/Xakk on Soundermaster v1.0)
Anders Andreen (Atoo on Atoo's own Routine)
Anders Elmen (Moon/Phenomenia on Charles Deneen's Routine)
Mikael Nilsson (Yankee on Soundermaster v1.0)
Thomas Danko JR (Danko/Fairlight on Sounder-Master v3.2)
Frederik Segerfalk (Frederik Segerfalk/System 6581 on F.Hedersti./System 6581)
Jeroen Soede (Soedesoft on Soedesoft's own Routine)
Kaspar Dahlkvist (Evony (+Quan)/Rizing on Future-Composer 2)
Klaus Groenegaard (K.G./Vibrants on JCH's music-player))
Stein Pedersen (Stein Pedersen/Prosonix on Steintr. MESX Synth/Seq.)

this topic is awesome, I am getting bored of the tunes I used to listen in hvsc, and too lazy to search for new gems, now here they are :)
(however the fave tunes of some ppl makes me understand why my gf goes nuts when I put in any sid tune, lol where have some of u put their ears?:)
anyone could be bothered and make a playlist out of all the tunes listed here ? it would be a great experince, and if you're not anymore into the active scene this way you could give something still O;-)
btw, DJB is really underrated, if you havent heard him so far you should go through his dir once. When I discovered him I played some of his tunes non stop for months. |

DJB is why I started to make C64 music. I managed to grab the same editor he used. I liked his percussion, bass lines and chords. It was an amazing evening when he phone me up ;) |

wow guys.. great thread (how did I miss this previously i'm wondering..)
will keep me buisy for a while to sit down and listen through the tracks that i didn't recognize.
I'd like to suggest checking Trident's directory..
Of course, he is a groupmate.. so I am biased.
On the other hand, I love most of his tunes done during 1995 and later, a specific sound.. so picked 3 tunes you might like.
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/S-Z/Trident/Dep..
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/S-Z/Trident/Mid..
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/S-Z/Trident/Oce..
Another previously not mentioned musician in the previous posts that you might like to check is 'Eco'
Nothing technically too difficult, but I often play several of his tunes as background music)
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/A-F/Eco/Eve_of_..
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/A-F/Eco/Mystica..
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/A-F/Eco/X-Ray.s..
Last but not least since Zyron is posting here too I just wanted to mention that I had a kind of love/hate relation with some of his sids.. :) I loved the experimenting, the amount of tunes produced.. but mostly not the end result.. (sorry just being honnest).. however.. i absolutely loved (!) the following:
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/S-Z/Zyron/Run_F..
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/S-Z/Zyron/Short..
http://hafnium.prg.dtu.dk/HVSC/C64Music/VARIOUS/S-Z/Zyron/Trans..

nah zyron has made much better music than those :)
I regard the following tunes as classic historical pieces with full of emotion:

http://www.c64.org/HVSC/VARIOUS/S-Z/Zyron/Party_93_edit.sid

http://www.c64.org/HVSC/VARIOUS/S-Z/Zyron/Late_Lament.sid
http://www.c64.org/HVSC/VARIOUS/S-Z/Zyron/Ghostsmile.sid
http://www.c64.org/HVSC/VARIOUS/S-Z/Zyron/Kingdom.sid
http://www.c64.org/HVSC/VARIOUS/S-Z/Zyron/Whirlpool.sid

I especially regard burning candles / the kingdom. They make me feel like queen's we are the champions / friends will be friends. |
