there is a French Lycos site that has heaps of C64 tools. I think French although the text seems to be something else. Google for agony explorer protext and it should be a hit |

Viktor, come on. It can't be that hard to make up a few categories to sort the tools...
Disk, graphic, music, other as the main categories I would say. You can then subdivide those main categories even further, like the graphics category into all the various modes, sprite- and charset tools...
Same with music: Music editors, ripper-tools, ...

Look at the main FTPs. They will have some idea. I suggest breaking them up into things like Gfx, Sound, Development, Compression, Archival/Backup, Disk, Noters, Misc. There may be some more you could add. Seems to work well for most places. |

Something else that might help is making the database accessible for beta testers. If you you see the database actually working new ideas/suggestions pop up that can be usefull. |

Yep, why not make subcategories for the various graphic modes? You could try if it is sensible to really split it up into all the submodes, or if Hires/Multicolour will do. Depends on how many editors you have gathered. |
