straight from YOUR playlist
if you encounter a piece of sound so great you want to hang yourself for not being able to write something of similar quality...
if you think you've just found the best music ever made...
if you think a certain song/tune/symphony contains some unusually awesome elements...
...and you want to share it with other c64 composers and not necessarily via your facebook wall, just do it here.
explanations, reviews and so on warmly welcome.
one link per day max.
have fun. |

I'm generally a sucker for powerful game soundtracks. Typically, PlatinumGames makes stuff right up my alley (Vanquish, Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance have massively awesome OSTs).
A tune which piqued my interest comes from Virtue's Last Reward (which is a slurpily delicious mindfork of a game by the way, go go play it now!) and is magnificently called "1-17 Q":

Great c64 conversion potential...
As a bonus, Presence by Mindsphere is a non-game 14 minute piece of pure liquid supercooled hydrogen:

Yep, outside of games I'm heavy into Goa. Whodathunkit? :)

Pretty much fell in love with Trinodia's work since Breakpoint 2004. Dude likes to mix Goa with scifi/physicist quotes related to space. Think quantum wormholes, Faster-Than-Light technology, astronauts performing Galileo's experiments on the Moon, a physicist explaining Flatland, time travel and heck, even Star Trek - Trinodia puts these brief sound bites into long, atmospheric tunes in such a way that they sound prophetic, ominous even. Love it.
"Halfdeaph" is my favourite track, but I can't seem to find an immediately-playable interwebz version. Try to download it though, it's an old track but certainly worth it.
Found the more recent "Wars of the Gods" on Youtube, though, which is also quite good:

You can download a lot of his stuff free of charge, btw. If you're interested, find trinodia.net and download free albums from there.
