Release id #212190 : Sonic the Hedgehog
Several users including myself are finding that on stock NTSC C64s, the game freezes trying to exit demo mode. Pressing the joystick button blues out the screen, and music continues to play, but no other input is accepted and it's stuck there.
This can also be replicated in VICE: Model C64 NTSC, 1581, 512k REU, full preload to REU. |

Maybe related to frame drops because stock NTSC machines are too slow (?):
Quote:The game will use CPU acceleration if available. C128 2MHz mode, SuperCPU 64, Ultimate 64 and Turbo Chameleon have been tested. This is especially recommended on NTSC hardware, which is normally too slow to run without dropping frames. Quote from "Summaries" entry. |

Thanks for letting me know, I can reproduce this. There'll be an update at some point in the near future... |

@Mr.SID
What exactly C128 gives? Is it the same as setting U64 to 2MHz?
I had some glitches at the bottom os the screen when set U64 to 2 MHz.
TIA |

Did you have it set to "Turbo Enable Bit"? |
