Joystick on PC for VICE ??
Hi everybody!
I have been looking around the forum, but not found what I was looking for!
So here we go:
Is there any way I can use a joystick on my PC and make it work in VICE emulator ????
Either an adapter for a real c64 joystick or just a PC joystick!
Hope you can help!
TIA

Thanx a lot for links =)
Do you know these joysticks ?
They look really good! But I can't seem to find any information whether they will work with VICE or not!

I use Stelladaptor with my Wico Egrostick and works very nicely in WinVICE.
Stelladaptor was sold by AtariAge previously, unsure now.

This too looks interesting, but seems impossible to buy anymore!
Still have to find an old c64 joystick aswell =)
No one who knows if the Competition Pro USB works with VICE.
Seems like the best option if it works!

Should work just fine. Even under linux some random gamepad works just fine so I doubt those won't. |

Yeah, Stelladaptor is rather popular and sells out fast. They might make another run sometime, dunno.
A few other options:

Also, the word from some is the Competition Pro USB is rather slow to respond ... could be annoying.

That's true, moloch. I found all those retro usb sticks quite slow responding. (nothing better than a good game of decathlon to test it :)
I modded my original suze arcade. (older brother of comp. pro)
I simply bought a PC game pad (four directional buttons and two fire buttons) took out the board and sawed the microcontroller out. (seriously)
Fortunately it fitted in the joystick I wanted and just connected the switches to the board instead of the original buttons.
Total cost: 10 euros for the gamepad and 30 minutes of tinkering.
However, all this info is useless, ofcourse, if you can't/don't do soldering or don't have the tools. |

Modding a joystick/gamepad.. Nice one!
Well I do know how to use a solderingiron but maybe it's just a little too much for now!
I have been looking at the link from Morloch

This looks great!
Now I will try to hunt down an old 'The Arcade' joystick for c64 (One button in front model)
This one:

Anyone knows where I might find one ? |

I think I'm going to buy this one:

Although it's a bit expensive.
Should work fine with VICE I guess.
Anyone has experience with this one? |
