future of the SID?
It's always amazing to see, how SID music changed in the last 23 years.
It seem that the SID doesn't has any limits...
What will be possible in the next years? |

Just be sure that you don't smoke too much while 'meditating' .. |

The SID will never die!
As for a musicians point of view; the SID is a full featured synthesizer with a own destinctive sound.
It was used back then and it'll be used in the future. Maybe not as a chip but as software emulation.
But don't forget that it's not only the SID but also the individual who controls it.
One thing is for sure. The SID will outlive us.

I predict a nuskool of sounds coming out of the SID, just look at the difference already from a 80s tune and one from the 90s ... there is still a lot to be done on the SID, and like someone said here, it really depends on the individual controlling it. I see a whole new generation coming... |

it's the music also, not only the synth behind it. Maybe the C64 will go through a IDM kind of phase ? We need more noise and not so many lead melodies.
Look what happened to the electric guitar... it's the first step, abandon the solos !
