New category - "Hall of Fame"
I need a new category as a status a member can have and this is "hall of fame", which means retired member that is still associated with the group. Like Hobbit for us - an almightly FairLight legend but none of the existing categories work for me. Inactive member is the closest but simply isn't close enough! |

hobbit sent me some new c64 gfx a couple of months ago, so inactive would be a bit unfair =) |

mmmm... who decides if a member is cool enough to be in the 'Hall of Fame' category?? the person who locked the group entry? |

Would end up with all ppl that left the scene beeing put into the Hall of Fame I guess then.
We know who the legendary people were, no need to add a category for such I say. |

Let the computer decide. 10 years of inactivity plus a personal score of more than 8.0 gives hall of fame status. :D Nah, just kidding... |

I think this db (and especially its charts) are already overloaded with inactive hall of fame'rs. But I guess Bachus's intention was to give some extra recognition from the group to some special ex members. that is reasonable IMHO. |

"inactive member" is good enough for this, why flood everything with pointless categories?
we could have an infinite number of these entrys like: kicked members, retired members, founders, in for friendship and so on.

And let't not forget those members who were just in the group for the sex! Lots of those in the scene as well ..
Seriously, I don't see the need for such an extra category either. You could ofcourse always add a list with those people in the trivia section of your group-entry. |

At the risk of stepping of toes here, I guess many of you were in normal groups where people participate then leave or get kicked. Very few group can compare with FairLight with it's history. Some group made it to the stars and created names that live on, and only a few of the members are recognized as hall of fame members.
I don't expect all of you to understand the value of Mr.Z, Ixion and 3D of Triad but please trust me that these are guys who were the heart and souls of a group that lives on. I don't expect you to understand the value and respect of Strider, Hobbit, Gollum and a selected few members of FairLight, but these are guys wo devoted themselves to the group in such a successfull way that they simly cannot be "ex-menbers" either.
Triad and FairLight are the same here, "built stronger to last longer" and a few member can simply not be "ex-members". Please trust me when I say there is a category of people, who's souls will eternally wander on this scene to guard it and deserve the recognition, if by noone else then at least by their descendants in the same group.
Of course I hope that I myself made a footprint on this scene with is not like a footstep on the beach, washed away by the next wave, but a piece of rock that stays untill it's eroded some eons later.
