deleted stuff

Submitted by fade [PM] on 26 May 2007
... i locked the entries because i am sick of seeing my stuff get del'ed.. Joy Division is one group that comes to mind, also a lot of aussie sceners of olde.
--

i heard things like this several times now ...
i can not understand why this is happening!
perff, pls do something against it!!

my ideas:
1. force deleter to give a reason!
2. make a list of deleted entries for us mods, so we can check things and validate or give an admin (if the mods shouldnt be able to undelete) a sign to restore it!
3. whoever creates an entry should get a message when his/her entry has been deleted!! (or any other solution like that)

It's not only deleting...
I told that before, that you should be informed about deleting..

and maybe even informed about changes, so you can react at once if you want to!

perhaps it would be a good idea to make a similar system like there is in the forum, where i can be informed about changes to the topic...
so i can even choose other entries where i will be informed when someone changes things

Forcing a deleter to give a reason will only work if that reason then appears in place of the release, along with the name of the person who did the deleting. Even then, I guess a fake account could be used for trashing someone elses work.

It should be easier to restore stuff (by either moderators, or the original uploader) that has been removed. As CSDB is at the moment, it is not so easy to add a release and update all details, if that then gets maliciously removed some people just won't bother replacing it again.

How often does one need to use delete on here anyway? Maybe the power to do so should be limited or removed?

Just some thoughts anyway.
