SID model for music entries

Hello!

I think the database quite clearly lacks a field where you can specify the following for music entries:

6581
8580
Any (Meaning that the author didn't intend the tune to be played on a specific SID model.)
Unknown (Meaning that it is not known if the author intended the tune for a specific SID model.)

Yeah?

For example, there is info on all this from the StLCP party, but it can't be specified here, so the info is thrown away...

this info is or will be present in Sid entries and you can link them to a music entry so its not really lost

Good idea, just like we have the possibility to specify graphics mode for pictures. Maybe something like digi/samples could be useful.

assidous: Those ripping the music and putting it into HVSC might not know what the original authors intended.

By the way, all info on SID models for music entries and demos from StLCP 2008 is available here:

http://lcp.c64.org/files/2008-StLCP/compo/results.html

While I am at it, you should perhaps be able to specify stereo sids too.

the info should go here via HVSC-Team (though in this case i want shorter update times between the releases...)

in the meantine using the comments should be good enough...

or are we getting tags now, finally?! :-)

Still CSDb could function as a way to communicate this info to the HVSC team? I mean.. when people are adding a release to CSDb, you can't expect them to send a message to the HVSC team each time?

add tags aswell. :P this is another fine example we need them. with tags there's no need to wait for someone to implement features like this.

tags to the world! :-)
we could just add tags and later import it to real database structure on the fly

no, instead the database will be spammed with god knows how many useless tags in no time. i am sorry, but that won't happen :)

I think GPZ is right. Tags may work on a wiki, but to keep a database in anal shape I guess it's a hazardous road to travel...
