Demo Makers and Future Writers

I'm not sure if I brought this up before, but...

Are Demo maker and / or Futurewriter style "demos" wanted or needed here? After reading through some of them, they are pretty inane and many are from unheard of groups.

Whatcha all think?

I think the key here is whether they are interesting or not. A select few such productions might provide an interesting historical document on the "lamer scene", but a whole crapflood of 'em? No thanks.

Well, right now I only have a dozen or so of them (the rest are still on floppy, untransferred) so I'll belch a few of them up once I get around to it. Thanks!

If they where released and spread, I see no reason why they shouldn't be added.

If you have it and you think it's worth preserving and sharing, by all means post it. I defy anybody to point out the harm.

Demomakers-made-demos (..) are one thing, but Futurewriter-made-notes? Do we really need those? And if so, why not all the millions of 'normal' notes that were written? Maybe I should scan the hand-written notes from my contacts I still have left and enter those as well?

What's the harm you ask? What about database pollution?

Well, Future Writer releases typically (at least here in the States) involved rag war related content... IE "That group is a bunch of fags" kind of stuff.

Same with demo maker stuff. "Theze guyz are lame, here is a crappy picture I drew in Koala Paint."

I'll bump up one of the more laughable ones so everyone can see it in context.

I think all releases belong here, hand-written notes on the other hand aren't releases.

What's the difference between a personal note on disk & a personal note on paper, apart from the obvious ofcourse?

I didn't say a personal note on a disk belong in CSDb any more than hand-written ones. I did however say that I think that all releases belong here, notes released to the public or similar.

Some examples:
Supermessage V1.0 - Made with El Stocco's Scroll Editor.
The Triad Letter - Possibly made with Sodan's writer.
Contact Relax !!! - Made with TSK's Movie-writer.

All these are correctly included here....and there are many more. I have a fever & a bad cold right now so I don't feel like searching for more :)

There's also a big amount of demos made with demo-makers by f.ex. Gollum, D.S. Compware etc consisting of a tune, a scroller & a bitmap picture. I believe they have the right to be included here as well.

I don´t mind about Demo-maker-demos.

Maybe one of mine turns up..
I made some about the "Dixons"-store I got my C64 from.
The bastards accused me of destroying my Commodore by using Pokes.. X(
