Interview with Honey of 1001 Crew

Everyone knows Honey and the 1001 Crew. They were one of the top teams between 1985 and 1987 and were the first to break the side-border and put sprites in all borders with ESCOS. C64hq is the first – and will always be the first – to give you an interview with one of the guys after 17 years of silence. It's a real scoop, don't you agree?

Read the interview and check out the rare pictures featuring members from Triad, Boys Without Brains, The BAM, Purebyte and SCC.

1001 was interviewed for In Medias Res, it's still there.

I have (co-incidence ????) just mailed SODAN today,
to get the story about the (up-low/sideborder stuff)

Sorry..

To answer Grahams's question:

it was either Sodan, 1001, or Flash (1941)

@rambones: there is a lot of people who claim to be the first, sodan being one of them. but who of them has released anything with it? none! so it simply is irrelevant.

Graham: Sodan has released his game Cracker's Revenge which has open up/low border, this is the first I saw in 1985. Likewise, 1001 made the border letter 1 with a sideborderscroll around charline 6-8, this was the first I saw. Therefore I am confused about the scroll-wars of Sodan+1001+Flash where they discuss who was first. I never saw anything *first* from Flash.

Just waiting for Sodan to reply..

@rambones: i was talking about sideborders ofcourse. 1001 crew never claimed that they have invented open upper/lower border.

I recently asked the same question... who was "first with border sprites" on Lemon64:

http://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12687

An interesting discussion with the general concensus that 1001 were first with the side borders... and FCG was first with upper and lower...
