Demoscene book released

For those who missed the news:

"
The First Book ever about the Demoscene is ready to be released! Titled: "Demoscene: The Art of Real-Time". 72 pages, full colour, professional quality, various writers, lots of visuals/design. Published by Even Lake Studios & katastro.fi. The book is released at the Sonar festival in Barcelona 17-19.6.2004. This 'art style' book is for everyone, not just for demosceners. It has a longer in-depth history article, case articles and 100% demoscene designs. For more info please visit: http://www.evenlakestudios.com/books

I googled on Lassi Tasajärvi and found out that he has a byterapers.com e-mail address. Bent Stamnes was an organizer of The Gathering parties.

But maybe some ppl can give use more info.

Well, as I happen to be in Helsinki this week I guess I'll go visit the KIASMA museum and pick up a copy of this book :)

some clues might have been given in the discussion at
pouet, http://www.pouet.net/topic.php?which=1192

"by first glance of the published screenshots, i'd say to be in the book you'd have to be finnish and in one of their supported groups (fx. complex or katastro.fi)"

"Having a book makes it easier to show your kids what daddy was doin' before he met mommy :)."

go away with this book, better to write one ourselves. is this scene already part of the past? then we should write a book about the ntsc scene, pal scene, the cracking scene, about the old scene vs. new scene, etc etc ;-) maybe a book from each country, as like a serie.

or just do as clinton did: write a book, my (scene)life and wait for reactions and skandals ;-)

-2 start press any key..where is the any key?-

i think it is a positive thing to have such a book around for whatever publicity and acquaintance it brings to the concept of demoscene for wide audiences. i am tried of trying to explain to other people what it is that i am doing or the good old "scene is a collection of people who ..." or even "first there were crackers... " mumbo jumbo...

who gets to be in this particular book is not worth discussing for me since it is sure that it will leave some people out. no offence to anyone but if you want to make sure that you are mentioned in a demoscene book, then do a bunch of demos and write a book about them. :)
