Is "Ian & Mic" and "Reptilia Design" the same group?
I wanna ask the old sceners out there, if "ian & mic" and "reptilia design" actually is the same group?
I know that ian and mic were in reptilia design, but reptilia design also had other members (atleast according to a scroll) - maybe ian and mic changed their groupname from "Ian & Mic" to "reptilia design" at some point (understandable...) ?
Hope some of you can shed some light on this. |

First off, Im not an old scener.. but Ive checked some Ian&Mic stuff the latest days.. and as I see it Reptilia Design must have been their Game dev. group. or something like that.
They have a website online somewhere. cant remember now though. |

As far as I remember, it was indeed their game development group. They made a few games of which I don't remember the names anymore, but one was a kind of "moon buggy" type of game.
One other member was a musician also known from Compunet but again my memory fails me. |

Hmm, Ian&Mic made quite a lot of stuff. I remember one Delta clone and a quite decent breakoutgame amongst other things. And yes - Reptilia Design was their gamelabel. I hope you have notified that they were members of Triad back in the days aswell...

Ian & Mic aren't Reptilia Design, it was Snake, Stack and a few others. When they were trying to get into the games business, Steve Snake (Snake... Reptilia... geddit? =-) let them use the Reptilia name as a foot in the door since he was already doing commercial work.
Info courtesy of Steve Snake. =-) |

Okay... But, according to some scrolls, Reptilia Designs also did some parts for demos. Is that because ian & mic were so happy that they got into reptilia designs that they sometimes used that group-name instead of "ian & mic", or what? |

From what Snake said, they were just given the okay to use the name for games use and were never technically members of the group - they may have co-opped with Reptilia members, although i only remember them working with Rob "Mantronix" Whittaker and he's not on the list Snake supplied (Snake, Stack, Diz, Syco and Yogi with the first two actually doing most the work accordin to him =-).
i won't post Snake's email to the board, but i can forward it if y'want? i had I&M listed as Reptilia on the legacy site. |

just to confuse even more..
The demo "TRIAD/ REPT.DEMO" was coded by Ian & Mic and with gfx from Rob Whitaker. Just after the triad intro there's the credits and the text; "Reptila Designs Demo Disk". So they have used the name atleast once.

Just a quick note - does SNAKE still work at Iguana developments in the north of UK ? He chose a suitably named company to work for, didn't he? :)
