how about why does vice use 100% cpu on my 50hz refresh thinkpad...
and silently quit if i leave the file-open disk dialogbox up for a few moments?

What about:
- giving more info about your peecee?
- checking for virusses
- checking for spyware
- disabling your anti-virusprogram
- stop running Vice in Warp-mode
- deleting the Vice configuration files?
- upgrading to a recent version of Vice?
- throwing that thinkpad away and buy no IBM stuff anymore?
- getting your real c64/c128 out of the closet?

what about having at least P2-300 to run vice at all;p
my old P133 laptop can run only vic20 emu from vice package at decent speed, C64 sucks completely and plus4 sux most of the time.
and how about ccs? well... 1.x runs sufficently but it's compability is limited :(
2.0betas are too slow. |

Well, throwing that thinkpad away and buy no IBM stuff anymore, must be the right solution, since Vice works like fucking crap on my thinkpad too. CCS64 works perfectly though.

1.5ghz centrino X41.
no virus or any of that, this isn't amateur hour
the screen happens to be 50hz (yay) and it works very well - but cpu is at 100%, and the audio skips alot - different audio sync methods don't make any difference.
if i am using an external monitor, that device is 60hz - and then it runs perfect, with proper cpu usage, proper audio.
i could demonstrate it at BFP next week...
it would be great to fix, interlace gfx and animations are smooth - but the cpu usage is too painful and the audio is too unstable.
plus the file-dialog box bug is strange, but i have it on two completly different systems, i thought it might be new in 1.19, but it does it in 1.18 as well.

@anix: haha! IBM, or should I say ATI? rules ;-) ...I just played around with the Presentation Director (Fn+F7) and various display settings. It seems that if you have the LCD selected as "Primary Display Device for Movie Playback" in your active display scheme, it fucks up and Vice runs at 100% cpu. That explains why it works with external display or both external and LCD active, since in the latter case the external monitor will by default be the primary one for fullscreen shit.
So a quick fix would be to create a Vice display scheme with dual display and the external screen as primary for fullscreen stuff. - but then you cannot watch movies on the LCD with e.g. Media Player with this scheme active though.
