Riverwash releases not under latest entries?

A lot of the Riverwash entries ended up under latest additions, and not under latest releases. I'm guessing the release date decides what goes into additions and what goes into releases? I'd rather not subscribe to the latest addition feed, as there's just too much old crap there, but missing half the compo releases kinda sucks...

I'm not sure I see the problem or really understand...

Latest releases lists the latest releases, ie based on the date it was released. All Riverwash releases are in that list if you expand it.

Latest additions lists the latest additions to the database no matter when they were released.

If you add something released today it will show up at the top of both lists.

I guess the problem is that you tend to miss stuff that was released a few days ago if it's not added right away. At least if you don't spend all your time checking CSDb.

But you are right of course that the feeds works as they are supposed to work, technically.

...or perhaps I missed something in Magervalps post too?

The ultimate function, I guess, would rather be:

"Show new additions since my last visit which was released the last month".

The problem is the latest releases RSS feed. Some of the Riverwash releases never appeared on it. The query needs to be a bit more intelligent than "the latest 25 entries sorted by release date", otherwise a lot of people will miss stuff that's uploaded a few weeks after release (which happens every now and then).

Yeah, I tend to miss releases due to this as well. I always check the 'Latest releases' list on the mainpage, and if I recognize those from the last visit, I think 'OK, nothing new released since last time' and move on.

Heard someone yelling! :)

Let me check that I understand the problem correctly:
Some new release X comes out. It is first added to CSDb a few weeks later, when 25 other newer releases was already added. Therefor the (almost) new release X dosn't show up on the top of "latest releases".

So. How do we solve this? Any ideas?

The stuff from Riverwash 2 party was officially released after party on amiscena ftp but we've been waiting so long for count the votes and get the results. Now I've added stuff to csdb but with original release date...

Yes.
I guess what we are looking for here, is a function like "latest additions" which displays what have been added lately, but only those releases which are new enough.

This would be easy enough to implement into the RSS-feed, as there are no need for sorting here, but how to implement this into "latest releases"?
I guess we can agree on that a release released yesterday, should be more or less on top of this list, so how do we put a release, that was released some weeks ago into this list, so it will be noted, but so this list dosn't gets all un-cronological?
