Hmm.. is that progess bar really k or somthing else? I dunno but ~50k for arranging a party seems totally f**kedup to me. They should take a look at parties like BFP or St:Lars imo.
more ca$h != more phun.

Well seems that BP has many luxury things...
If it just has:
sleeping area
power
screen
sound
food/drinks shop
compos
Then its a party.
No prob.. go to some swedish parties to experience how
a party with 10 euro ticket price is run! :-)

Though I think BFP would have had some organizational issues if 500 persons had decided to appear... ;)
Once you get up in scale to these multi-hundred attendants-parties, the infrastructure needed to run it probably runs a lot more expensive.
Still 59.000 euros does sound like a lot, I agree. |

I think Breakpoint is different than other parties.
Breakpoint is the biggest scene-only event. Even though it is a scene party, so much non-scener ppl knows Bp. Also it supports all of the main platforms such as C64, Amiga and Pc. It is like a demoscene advertisement,it impresses so much new talent.
So I think Bp always must remain as a big event. |

We must support this party. I don't think any other party would cover Breakpoint. I'm planning to visit BP this year but even if I can't, I'll make a donation.
Btw, 59k looks too much I know but if you look a little bit closer, 10k alone has been reserved for compo prizes. This is how BP organizers would like to do this event. They already showed us 20k is enough just for a simple organization. They don't want to loose the quality. They want us to be the main sponsors which is fine with me. |

comparing such a small event with a huge 3 (almost 4) day event visited by roughly 800 people.... oh well. i dont know :) |
