C64-SX for sale (maybe)
Hello
Please forgive me if I'm in the wrong forum for this, but I was wondering if one can use this place for selling old equipment?
I own a somewhat used Commodore SX-64. I might want to sell it to someone who couldn't live without owning one or whatever.
It has some defects, I need to warn you, but still it is a very rare computer.
Ok,
So please tell me if I can sell it with an ad here, or just announce where I'm a selling it (which external website)?
Thanks

Ok.
the computer is working, the built in screen is working, the disk drive is working (I beliewe it's a 1541-II).
However the sound is not working. When I bought it the sound was working OK but stopped working after some time. Maybe it needs a new SID chip. I read somewhere that SID chips tend to get very hot.
The keyboard is also working, but the plastic lid containing the keyboard has some small cracks (plastic broken off), so the keyboard is a bit loose. But I have saved tiny plastic parts from the lid so it may be possible to repair it.
So yeah tell me if you're interested and we'll see what we can work out.

*shrug*. Most of the time people that ask stuff like this are sent off to lemon64. I guess it's different if *I* say it, though ;_)

He'd certainly have better luck moving it on Lemon or eBags.
There is a vast difference between sceners (coders/pixel junkies/musicians) and collectors.
Sceners already have what they need. Collectors need anything they don't have. An SX-64 is definite collector fodder.

I contend that someone who is coding/pixeling/composing has no use for a SX-64 and it's microscopic CRT. I sincerely doubt that he'll have the luck selling his equipment here rather than Lemon64.
But if you're a collector, more power to you. Buy this guy's SX-64. You'll make him happy. |

Jan is right, IMHO.
I sold stuff to sceners on parties, so why not here?
And where else do the crackers get their originals from?
And while we're at it... FOR SALE, original tapes:

And about the SX-64: the first cross-dev setup I ever saw was Scout's laptop hooked to an SX-64 with RR+RRnet! |
