C64 Game Creation Tools
Hi, I wondered if there are any good (preferable) Windows Tools for creating games on c64?.
I`m an Artist in real life, and an old C64 fan. When I discovered some wonderful tools here to create Graphics and sprites etc on PC, like "Spritepad", I thought that it would be quite a nice challenge to work within certain (graphical) limits of a computer like the 64. But thats 'Art' wise. I suck at programming.
Are there any tools to let you create games, without having to learn Assembler, or is the only way for me to just use SEUCK or Arcade Game Construction Kit?
I can`t seem to find that last one in the database here btw, has anyone experience with it?
Thanks

There's also Game Maker by the company Activison, and Creator by Code Masters. But all these are very limited, I very much advise to look for a coder instead. |

GFX man in desire of working on a game? Welcome to the C64 scene :)
There are many active game projects that need good GFX, I hope folks will check in here. For what I know, try to contact TWW and Richard.
Good luck :) |

Not a Windows tool but a native C64 tool, there's also Garry Kitchen's GameMaker. Here is a site where you can find both the software as well as some games made with this tool.

I think there is something called 3d Construction Kit (but i only found the docs to it on csdb not the kit itself, though i think i have it on some of my converted disks).
Wasnt there also some construction kit for driller ?
I dont think you can use any selfmade gfx with these though. |

Of course it's here.. http://noname.c64.org/csdb/search/?seinsel=all&search=3d+const&..
that's the one which is based on Driller, Dark Side etc.
Doing a full game with this seems hard as there is afaik only Cyborg 2900 [3dck] as a custom made Freescape (name of the 3D system) game. |

Something is wrong with your search options, the link above should give you 10 entries of '3D Construction Kit', only one of them the mentioned docs.
You probably are in demo mode. |

On Lemon64 there was a feed dealing with programming 3d Construction Kit, a good how to, plus some links to some programmed games using the system. A slow system, but some cool info on using it for layout.
