Didnt find another version but maybe this helps:

Playing on the real thing with an Action Replay:

Freeze the game and enter the POKE 64655,44

In VICE monitor this will work:

>fc8f 2c

(Enter monitor with alt+h (linux) or alt+m (win) - leave it with "x<enter>")

for Unlimited Lives

PS: pls report success/failure - there is one more location which possibly could set lives to 0.

this game would benefit from a proper crack / loading from a modern medium. also what I've got my hands on was crash happy.

Yeah - but as ESI released "a version" we likely will not see one mastered by the modern "advanced" cracking people as there are just no points in it :)

I only found a version close to the original as well. Is it even playable without warpmode? :)

Tried the poke now several times with the retro replay (1541U2) and it doesn't work (disk loading stops after entering it)

fenz: feared something like that. Bad luck I'd say then. Could throw the cheat at the disk to have an always trained disk if you REALLY want that :)

bugjam: hm? _a_ version from ESI. All other packages found here were copied originals it seems.

@Count: oh sorry I thought when you wrote "I only found a version close to the original _as well_." you meant also close to the original, like the ESI version. :)

Well, didn't verify the downloads against a real original. As they came as d64 and this is Accolade could easily be that someone just patched off some crack to make things copyable.
Like the Return of Herakles "original" first version on the cracking compo maybe.

Count Zero: Actually, an always trained version of this game would be brilliant. One can always press CTRL+R to go back to the title screen.
