Looking for Exodus
Hi!
I am wondering what the German group Exodus is doing today..
I am an Amstrad CPC scener and I know that this group who had roots of C64, released some cool stuff on CPC (some demos, an assembler, a tracker, a noter (the first and only noter on CPC, heh,. I have even used it for my 1st CPC demo) all these around 1997 I think.
Anyways,. I have never seen what their previous work was in C64 and I can't find anything either in this site or C64.CH when using the search engine.
Where can I find old productions of Exodus on C64?
Also,. does the Spectrum group Exodus has nothing to do with this one?
And last one, would it be possible to contact these guys? They have brought some cool tools and a C64 feeling on our little CPC scene and everybody wonders where they have gone after their last releases. The coder is called Joshua and another guy Koopa Troopa. Does it remind you everything? Any email to contact them, or do you know what happened with them, if they got in real life and forgot the scene or anything???
Thanks in advance

Hi there,
at least what I remember from the past Exodus was an amercian fixer/importer group. I never knew a German c64 group calling themselves like this.
maybe there just was a cpc group named like that ?
And I am really sure that no American ever heard of the cpc ? :-D |

Hmm...
I have seen stuff from a group with the name "Exodus" on the lists from Ixion, although that is from 1987-88. I reckon that's not the fellows you're looking for, right? |

Also, The Technocrats Worldwide (TTW) had an Exodus division. Consisting of Dr. Mike, Mr. Mike and Pink Panther. And if I'm not completly wrong, also Elric was a part of the Exodus division.
Most of the Exodus division and the rest of TTW moved to amiga in the fall of 1987, so I suppose its not that group you are looking for. |

Hmm,. strange
I have ran again the old CPC productions of Exodus, they are German (There are their addies there), and in the noter of their Turbo Assembler, the Joshua guy says that he did this assembler, similar to the assembler he likes when he is coding on C64.
Also, in the scroller of a demo, among with CPC greetings, he greets also TGS/Creators. I searched on the CSDb database in the group Creators and there is only one TDS. Perhaps a typo on that scroller and he meaned TDS instead of TGS? I don't think there is Creators group on CPC or in any other computer out there :) I will ask TDS if he knows anything and also will go and ask some CPC sceners again..
The assembler, noter and demos were released inside 1996. The full group consists of Joshua, KoopaTroopa, Blue Ice and Hitman. |

These cpc people are DEFINITELY not the same as the american Exodus (XDS), which - as Slator explained - an importing and fixing group. I have some contact with one of their former members (Executioner), and they definitely ended their existence in 1991. |

Yes, it was my mistake. I sent a letter to two of the member and to my surprise, Joshua received it and replied to my email. He never was on a C64 group, but he didn't answered me if he ever released a demo alone (in the CPC assembler Turboass (which surprisingly looks very similar to TASM from C64) he said he coded in C64 before) and I asked him for more details and I am waiting now. He still remember TDS/Creators, was one of his best contacters as he said (but he remembers him as TGS ;P).
So, my mistake was that I thought that Exodus on CPC was the same as in C64, while he just said that he only coded in C64 before. I guess, he might has not released anything on C64 and moved immidiatelly on the CPC but everything he did reminds very much of C64 feeling (Hmm,. I just remembered that his tracker is called AMC. Can be something inspired by DMC? Will check it ;) |
